Six month's today

The morning started by being woken by these little fellow's who were tapping on the paintwork. So after we and them had some breakfast we headed for Calcutt locks. We were still following Alan & Carol off n.b. Holly Hobble and when we got to the locks we both required diesel, so we filled with water while we waited. We then dropped down one lock so we could get our diesel and have a new gas bottle. Diesel and gas is a good price here at 57p a litre and any split so it was well worth going out of our way for a bit.

Then we said our goodbyes to Alan & Carol as they carried on down the locks and we headed back to Braunston. It was nice making new friends and they were great fun to be with...Thanks guys!
It is lovely to see all the wild flowers now coming out at canalside as we headed back to Braunston and turned towards Rugby. We were meeting up with Pat & Keith on n.b Thema for a BBQ. We passed some other bloggers n.b Waterways Routes ( http://www.waterwayroutes.co.uk/ )who shouted as we crossed paths. You can get DVD's and waterways walks of all the canals from these guys, so hopefully Derwent6 will be on one of these. The weather just got better as we arrived with the wind dropping and the peace and quiet of the countryside with the birds singing. We stuck Derwent6 bow to bow with n.b Thema and lit the Barbie straight away. We are really getting the hang of this cooking outside lark and the food was cooked to perfection again.
Well today Derwent6 is six months old and we have been living on the cut and enjoying every moment of it....has it gone quick? No not really! we have just lived the moment and feel we have slowed down the pace of life. We still have so much to look forward to and spend more time with friends and family...Life is good at the moment....(fingers crossed)

Sorry we has only a few seconds to chat - hopefully it will be longer next time.

Our continuously recording Bowcam caught you - so you will have your 5 seconds of fame on our Warwickshire Ring Bowcam DVD when that's published.
