Tackling Tackley

With some heavy rain overnight which kept us awake for a bit, we had a lay in.. The sun was out in the morning, so we made the decision to go for a walk into Tackley. It is a mile and half away and picks up the Palladian way.
It starts off across some fields but soon picks up a farm track which takes you over the railway and down into the village with some lovely views.
We walked towards the village stores which is run by the local community and uses all local produce. They were all very friendly people.
We then found the village pub called The Gardiners Arms which is under new ownership, and ordered two ploughmans with a couple of beers.
We sat in the sunshine on the patio till we got a short sharp shower. We let it pass and then walked back to Derwent6 via the poppy fields.
Just as we got back the heavens opened and we watched it with a cup of tea. The showers just got heavier and it gave us an oppotunitny to clean the cratch and houdini covers. We scrub them with fairy liquid and let the rain do the rest... We watched the tennis in the afternoon and the boats as they passed us in the very heavy showers we had for the rest of the day.
